Two weeks to World Youth Day

In two weeks, I’ll be in Madrid amongst one million other young Catholics. I’ll be live blogging, shooting video, taking videos and writing stories for The Catholic Review. Let me just say this: I’m not ready. Despite two very well-organized meetings by the Archdiocese of Baltimore, I have loads to do before I go, both personally and professionally. Time is ticking, but it’s an exciting time. I’m still mulling buying an iPad 2 so I can be as cool as Pope Benedict XVI. The upside is that I wouldn’t always have to lug around a five pound MacBook through Spain, in addition to a camera and everything else a journalist thousands of miles from home. Beyond the material needs, I’m not ready for the awe-inspiring nature of this event. Seriously, a million Catholics, in the middle of an already huge city? Bring it on. But, not too soon.
