Truth be told?

Mary Breslin, reviewing Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” (CR, April 12) asserts “cause for a meltdown among those who would refute Mr. Gore’s claims.” Strangely enough, the Competitive Enterprise Institute is entirely UN-melted, as it gives information on its website which does refute Mr. Gore. But all is not lost; Ms. Breslin can find a meltdown if she wants one. She need only look at the meltdown of Mr. Gore’s confident prediction that the hurricane season immediately after the one with Hurricane Katrina would be even worse. It wasn’t.

I don’t know why Ms. Breslin uses the phrase “Truth be told” in this review, because she certainly doesn’t tell it.
