The Archdiocese of Baltimore will hold a testimonial dinner for Cardinal William H. Keeler Sept. 6 at the Baltimore Convention Center to honor the prelate’s 18 years of service in the Premier See.
Attendance is limited to some 2,500 guests, according to Bishop W. Francis Malooly, western vicar, who said he sent a letter to pastors offering them the opportunity to invite up to 10 members from their parishes.
The cardinal’s family and friends, bishops from across the country and representatives from various institutions are among those who will be invited to attend.
During the dinner a video will be shown featuring testimonials about the cardinal’s ministry in the archdiocese.
“It’s a way for us to thank the cardinal for all he’s done these past 18 years,” said Bishop Malooly, noting that the event will feature remarks from the cardinal.
Dinner is scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m. and will be preceded by a cocktail reception.
