St. John dedicates Respect Life Garden

Parish leaders joined the Westminster Council of the Knights of Columbus in dedicating a Respect Life Garden at St John in Westminster this fall.

A joint effort of the Knights and the St John Respect Life Ministry, the garden was designed and implemented by Chris Hoffman of Green Thumb Landscapes with the assistance of the group. It includes a monument to Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the unborn, whose feast day is Dec. 12.

The entire garden is encircled by a rosary and cross laid out in stone. Several benches have been placed for meditation with accent lighting provided and placed by Jim Kramer. The dedication was performed by Monsignor James Farmer, pastor, and Father Gerard Steffener with the James Cardinal Gibbons Assembly providing color corps honors.
