Lauren Kelly and Sydney Borum got the goals Oct. 3, when Archbishop Spalding posted a 2-0 victory over host Mercy in an Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference soccer game.

Spalding improved to 6-1-3 overall and 4-1-1 in A Conference play for coach Bob Dieterle. Mercy fell to 8-6, 4-3.

Borum took advantage of a rare start, assisting Kelly in the last minute of the first half. A junior midfielder, Borum scored in the second half. Goalie Cassidy Babin recorded the fourth shutout of the season for the Cavaliers.
