Sisters of St. Francis elect new leadership team

More than 300 members of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia gathered for their congregational chapter from June 22-28. During this time, a new leadership team that will assume office Sept. 12 was elected.

The six-person team also includes: Sisters Anne Amati, Esther Anderson, Donna Desien, Ruth E. Goodwin, Marijane Hresko, and Annette Lucchese, O.S.F.

Sister Anne was born in Trenton, N.J., and currently serves as a retreat director at the Franciscan Spiritual Center in Aston, Pa.

Sister Esther was born in Galway, Ireland. She currently ministers as executive director of operations and services for the Sisters of St. Francis.

Sister Donna was born in Carbondale, Pa. Prior to her recent sabbatical studies, sister ministered as principal of Corpus Christi School in Wilmington, Del., for 21 years.

Sister Ruth was born in Philadelphia, but lived in Maynard, Mass., prior to her entrance into the congregation. She serves as the interim vice president of mission for Bon Secour St. Mary Hospital in Richmond, Va.

Sister Marijane was born in Lebanon, Pa. She currently serves as the director of sponsorship for the Sisters of St. Francis.

Sister Annette Marie was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and currently ministers as program director for the Franciscan Spiritual Center in Ringwood, N.J.
