Sister Miriam Regina Brosnan, C.S.C.

A funeral Mass for Sister Miriam Regina Brosnan, C.S.C., 80, will be offered June 9 at Holy Cross Church, Garrett Park. Sister Miriam Regina died June 6.

A Baltimore native, Sister Miriam Regina entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at Notre Dame, Ind., in 1945 and professed her final vows in 1950.

Sister Miriam Regina was a dedicated teacher and school administrator. She taught at St. Patrick, Baltimore, from 1950 to 1955, and served as a teacher or principal at schools in Indiana, New York, North Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Washington, D.C.

In 2004 – following 53 years as an educator – Sister Miriam Regina moved to Saint Angela Hall in Kensington and became active in the Sisters’ Presence Program at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring.

Sister Miriam Regina is survived by a sister, Joan Brosnan of Gaithersburg; a nephew, Sean Brosnan of Baltimore and the Sisters of the Holy Cross.
