Sister Mary Germana Strassberger, R.S.M. dies

A funeral Mass for Sister Mary Germana Strassberger, R.S.M., was offered June 22 at The Villa, Baltimore. Sister Mary Germana died June 20. She was 96.

A native of Baltimore, Sister Mary Germana entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1931. She taught at Shrine of the Sacred Heart School in Mount Washington from 1937-41; St. Gregory’s School in Baltimore from 1941-42; St. Vincent’s Male Orphanage in Baltimore from 1946-48 and 1956-57; and St. Peter’s School in Baltimore from 1957-58. She was a teacher and librarian at Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Baynesville from 1958-65, and she was librarian at Mercy High School in Baltimore from 1965-92. She also taught in Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Sister Mary Germana is survived by a brother, a sister-in-law, and eight nieces and nephews.
