Sister Mary Christina Bryce, SSND dies

A funeral Mass for School Sister of Notre Dame Mary Christina Bryce was offered July 25 at the Chapel at Villa Assumpta, Baltimore. Sister Christina died of congestive heart failure July 20. She was 89.

Born in Lowell, Mass., Sister Christina joined the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1940. She taught at schools in Pennsylvania, Florida and Maryland, including St. Thomas Aquinas in Hampden from 1946 to 1954.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland in 1956.

Sister Christina spent one year in service to her community at Villa Assumpta in 1988, and returned to Baltimore after her retirement in 1997. In 2005, she moved to Maria Health Care Center. She is buried at Villa Maria Cemetery in Glen Arm.
