Sister Louise Connolly, I.H.M., dies at 91

Sister Louise Connolly died May 13.

A funeral Mass for Sister Louise Connolly of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary was May 17 at the Our Lady of Peace Residence in Scranton, Pa. Sister Louise died May 13; she was 91.

A Baltimore native, Sister Louise joined the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1948 and professed her final vows in 1954. She earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics/philosophy from what is now Notre Dame of Maryland University and a bachelor’s and master’s degree in music from what is now Marywood University in Scranton, Pa., and DePaul University in Chicago, respectively.

Sister Louise ministered in music and education, serving as choral director at Calvert Hall College High School in Towson from 1982 to 1986 and as an administrative assistant at Notre Dame Preparatory School in Towson from 1986 to 1988. She also served in Pennsylvania, Delaware and New York.

She served in prayer ministry from 2010 until her death.
