Sister Dorothy McLaughlin, S.P., dies

A funeral Mass for Sister of Providence Dorothy McLaughlin was expected to be offered June 21 in St. Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind. Sister Dorothy died June 17. She was 94.
A native of Butte, Mont., Sister Dorothy entered the Sisters of Providence in 1936.
In her 77 years as a Sister of Providence, Sister Dorothy ministered for 46 years in schools, including at the former St. Clement I School in Lansdowne from 1965 to 1966.
She also served at schools in Illinois, Indiana, New Hampshire, North Carolina and Washington D.C.
Sister Dorothy earned a bachelor’s from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in St. Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind. and a master’s from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Ind.
