Sister Doloretta Francis O’Sullivan dies

A funeral Mass was offered July 23 at Assisi House in Aston, Pa. for Franciscan Sister Doloretta Francis O’Sullivan. Sister Doloretta died July 19. She was 88.

Born in Knocknagree County Cork, Ireland, Sister Doloretta entered the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia in 1937 and professed her final vows in 1940.

Sister Doloretta served in the Archdiocese of Baltimore for 59 years, teaching at St. Elizabeth School, Baltimore (1940-1946); St. Katharine School, Baltimore (1946-1955); St. Stephen School, Bradshaw (1955-1959); Immaculate Conception School, Baltimore (1959-1968); Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School, Baltimore (1974-1990); The Catholic High School of Baltimore (1990-1997) and St. Anthony School, Baltimore (1997-2005). She also worked in the Diocese of Wilmington and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia where she served the last four years of her life in prayer ministry.

In her leisure time, Sister Doloretta enjoyed sewing and crafts. She did needlecrafts and made dolls to sell at fairs.
