Student achievement in the Archdiocese of Baltimore:

99.9% high school graduation rate

More than 97% matriculation to college or military service

$2,502,638  archdiocesan financial aid awarded (2023-24 school year)

5 National Blue Ribbon winning schools in 2024

“The rate of return of a Catholic education is very, very high.”

Anirban Basu, chairman and CEO of Sage Policy Group, spoke at Notre Dame Preparatory School on the value of Catholic education. In addition to significantly higher graduation and college matriculation rates, Catholic education circumvents distractions more commonly found in public schools, such as constant testing requirements and behavioral issues.

On a larger scale, the National Catholic Educational Association estimates that Catholic schools provide $24.3 billion in savings each year for the nation.

“It is hard to compete with free (public schools),” Basu said. “The rate of return of a Catholic education is very, very high.”
