Raising heart rates, funds: Our Lady of Victory of School holds Race for Education

By Catholic Review Staff
More than 260 students from Our Lady of Victory School in Arbutus took to the great outdoors Oct. 25 for its Race for Education fundraiser. Students from pre-K to 8th grade walked, jogged and ran laps for 45 minutes. The day, blessed with good weather, included games, Zumba instruction and music. The student from each homeroom who completed the most laps will be recognized with a certificate at an assembly.
There was a $15,000 fundraising goal for the event, according to race director Alexandra Palmer. As of Nov. 1 it yielded more than $15,500. The funds will be used to update technology in the media center and individual classrooms.
