Praise for Father Hipsley

I am writing to commend the cover story (CR, July 29) on Father Milton Hipsley. Too often we marginalize those who have memory problems or some form of dementia. I am grateful that you publicly acknowledge someone who is dealing with this issue and yet continues to minister in wonderful ways. I have worked with those with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias for many years and am amazed at how often they are some of the most loving, caring people, seeing the gifts in themselves and others, bringing love to the world. How courageous of Father Hipsley to speak his truth so openly.
