New pastor named for Sykesville

Marianist Father Neville R. O’Donohue was appointed pastor of St. Joseph in Sykesville, effective Aug. 1. He previously served the parish as an associate pastor.

Born in 1957 in Dublin, Ireland, Father O’Donohue joined the Society of Mary in 1982 and professed first vows in 1986. He served in high school ministry at a Marianist school in south Dublin and youth ministry for the Archdiocese of Dublin before transferring to Rome in 1998 to pursue ordination.

He was ordained a priest in 2002 and returned to Dublin, where he continued in high school ministry. He began serving in Sykesville in August 2010. He lives in Eldersburg with a community of five other Marianist priests and brothers.
