The National Day of Prayer May 2 was observed in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
The Catholic Community of St. Francis Xavier in Hunt Valley scheduled a series of worship events in the afternoon, including a Mass, eucharistic adoration, the patriotic rosary, the Divine Mercy Chaplet and the benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
U.S. President Barack Obama issued a proclamation on the National Day of Prayer, was has been held on the first Thursday in May since 1952.
