Mount St. Joe records big baseball win at Calvert Hall

TOWSON – Mount St. Joseph High School recorded an important baseball victory April 23, when the Gaels rode the six-hit, complete-game pitching of Peter Solomon to a 6-2 win over host Calvert Hall at Carlo Crispino Stadium.
Mount St. Joe improved to 11-9 overall, 6-5 in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference, where Calvert Hall began the day in first place. The Cardinals dropped to 14-7 overall and 9-3 in the conference, where Gilman took over first place with a 4-3 victory over Loyola Blakefield.

Solomon improved to 5-0 on the season for coach Dave Norton’s Gaels, who got a double, two singles and two RBI from Sam Rowan.
“I knew that my team was going to put me in a good position by getting some runs early,” Solomon told Varsity Sports Network, “so I wanted to get a good mound performance to give them a chance to win.”
