I go to church weekly and I read The Catholic Review regularly. I have been disappointed that there has been so little supporting President Obama and so much about the Freedom of Choice Act, a bill which has not even been introduced in Congress this session. We have a president committed to protecting our civil liberties and our environment, ending torture and improving our status in the world. His priorities include supporting the poor and needy in our communities. Even our pope has recognized the fact that most of his views are in line with the teachings of Jesus. We should pray for a change of heart on the issue of abortion but not use the issue as a tool in divisive politics. I think we should celebrate the good that our new president can accomplish with our support, and I would love to hear prayers and support for him in church and in this publication.
