The Home and School Association at Monsignor Slade Catholic School was awarded the 2011 NCEA Distinguished Home and School Association Award. The recipients – including four other school parent associations – will be honored at the upcoming 2011 NCEA Convention to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana from April 26-28, 2011.
The HASA has been highly successful in raising money for the school and conducting community-building events for over 45 years. The Association contributes $200,000 per year to the operating budget of the school to offset tuition increases as well as provide scholarships, teacher supplies and technology items and cultural enrichment activities for the students.
Principal Gregory Jones states, “The Association, which has an exemplary relationship with the school administration, is always ready and able to help the school in any way they are asked. They touch so many peoples’ lives in so many ways, it is difficult to capture all the good they do.”
Mrs. Kristi Brooks, President of the Home and School Association for the 2009-2010 school year, will attend the NCEA Convention with Principal Gregory Jones to receive the award.
