The Archdiocesan Pastoral Council consists of 14 members, 10 of whom are appointed from the 10 geographic regions of the Archdiocese represented on the Presbyteral Council. Each regional pastor representative of the Presbyteral Council, in consultation with a lay woman and man from two other parishes in the region, will nominate two candidates from applications submitted from local parishioners, and forward the two candidates’ applications to the regional vicar. The regional vicar will select a final candidate to recommend for appointment by the Archbishop. Four additional members of the Council include a representative of the African American community selected in consultation with the Urban Vicar and the Director of the Office of Black Catholic Ministries, one representative of the Hispanic/Latino community, selected in consultation with the Eastern Vicar and Director of the Office of Hispanic Ministries, one representative of the Asian Pacific Islander community, selected in consultation with pastors of representative congregations, and one representative of the young adult community, selected in consultation with the Director for Youth Ministry and the executive Director of the Office of Evangelization. Members of the laity interested in applying to serve on any of the 14 seats of the APC are invited to complete the following brief application, to be submitted along with a copy of their resume and a letter of recommendation from their pastor.
