Invitación a la etapa provisional del Sínodo

Queridos amigos en Cristo,
El Santo Padre nos invita en esta Cuaresma a continuar juntos nuestro camino sinodal participando en la Etapa Interina del Sínodo de la Sinodalidad. Durante esta etapa del proceso mundial de oración y conversación que tomará varios años, nos reuniremos como miembros de nuestra Iglesia local para reflexionar específicamente sobre las estructuras que existen dentro de la Iglesia. Juntos discutiremos su eficacia para promover la participación y la corresponsabilidad entre todos los fieles, tanto el clero como los laicos.

Habrá tres oportunidades para participar e invito a todos, independientemente de dónde se encuentren en su camino de fe, a ofrecer su perspectiva única. La participación en las sesiones está abierta a todos.

Esta Cuaresma tendrá lugar una sesión en cada vicariato:

* Vicariato Oriental – 7 de marzo, de 18:30 a 20:30 horas San Felipe Neri, 6405 S Orchard Rd, Linthicum Heights, MD

* Vicariato de la ciudad de Baltimore – 7 de marzo, de 6:30 a 8:30 p.m. San Francisco de Asís, 3615 Harford Rd., Baltimore, MD

* Vicariato Occidental – 12 de marzo, de 6:00 a 8:30 p.m. San José, 17630 Virginia Ave, Hagerstown, MD 21740

Estas conversaciones serán moderadas y en cada una se ofrecerá facilitación en español.

Al concluir la Etapa Interina, un informe sobre lo compartido pasará a formar parte de la síntesis de la Región Episcopal IV, que será presentado a la Conferencia de Obispos Católicos de Estados Unidos para su inclusión en el informe nacional a la Santa Sede.

Archbishop William E. Lori

Archbishop William E. Lori was installed as the 16th Archbishop of Baltimore May 16, 2012.

Prior to his appointment to Baltimore, Archbishop Lori served as Bishop of the Diocese of Bridgeport, Conn., from 2001 to 2012 and as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Washington from 1995 to 2001.

A native of Louisville, Ky., Archbishop Lori holds a bachelor's degree from the Seminary of St. Pius X in Erlanger, Ky., a master's degree from Mount St. Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg and a doctorate in sacred theology from The Catholic University of America. He was ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Washington in 1977.

In addition to his responsibilities in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, Archbishop Lori serves as Supreme Chaplain of the Knights of Columbus and is the former chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' Ad Hoc Committee for Religious Liberty.
