Event Navigation
In celebration of Notre-Dame de Paris’s grand reopening after the devastating 2019 fire, a virtual (free) webinar is being offered on Thurs., Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. featuring Johns Hopkins alumna Kathy Borrus, A&S ’98. Kathy will be presenting on her book, Notre Dame de Paris: A Celebration of the Cathedral, offering an engaging journey through the cathedral’s remarkable history—from its first cornerstone in 1163 to its many transformations over the centuries. Her talk will be richly illustrated with historical images from her book, making it a real treat for anyone who loves history, architecture, or Paris itself.
This special event will be moderated by Anne E. Lester, the John W. Baldwin and Jenny Jochens Associate Professor of Medieval History at Johns Hopkins. Professor Lester has recently written an article with Perspectives on History on the cathedral’s restoration and reopening.
