Almost all events submitted – if they are sponsored by a Catholic parish, school or other organization in the Archdiocese of Baltimore – will be featured in the online calendar.

A human monitor will approve submissions for posting.

Events submitted by the first of the month prior to the month of the event may be considered for the print edition of Catholic Review magazine (e.g., by Jan. 1 for publication in the February magazine). So that all entities in the archdiocese have a fair opportunity to be listed in the limited space in the print publication, entities will be limited to no more than two in each calendar month print edition. If more than two have been submitted, Catholic Review Media staff will decide which items to publish, at their discretion.

Lenten Lunch & Dialogue

March 14 @ 12:00 pm - 3:30 pm EDT

$50
Lenten Lunch flyer

Join us for a delicious lunch and dialogue about Come Forth: The Promise of Jesus’s Greatest Miracle by Jesuit priest and author, Fr. James Martin, SJ. In this 2023 work, Fr. Martin vividly explores the biblical story of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead while meditatively highlighting the diverse meanings embedded in Jesus’s words for Lazarus and contemporary readers when he calls out, “Come forth.” Fr. Martin also offers a compelling analysis of the biblical text alongside insights into the historical setting of the story. With his renowned sense of humor and candid approach to living spiritually, he invites readers into a deeper connection with the person and lessons of Jesus as we navigate life in these challenging times.

During the program portion of this session, participants will have opportunities for engaging in prayerful pauses, creative and spiritual-oriented exercises around the text, and small and large group dialogue sessions. Media clips from/about the text will also be woven into the program. Prior reading of Come Forth is not mandatory, but may prove beneficial. Please bring a journal for use during the program to participate in writing prompts. Guided by Gordon Creamer.
