I couldn’t agree more with the letter from Richard L. Lelonek (CR, Jan. 26), “Football and Sunday don’t mix.” I enjoy sports with the best of them, but its stature in our country has gotten out of hand. I recall reading that one of the aspects of the Roman Empire when it was in decline it had become a society of spectators, instead if doers. Sounds like us, doesn’t it?
