Dan Meyer, the music department chair of the Institute of Notre Dame and the music director of Corpus Christi Parish in Baltimore, honored history and music at Baltimore City’s popular Artscape July 20.
Meyer’s choir, aptly named the Dan Meyer Choir, performed “The War of 1812: A Choral Commemoration at Corpus Christi.”
“I chose to do the War of 1812 because this is obviously the 200th anniversary of the beginning of the War of 1812 and it has such a huge link with Baltimore,” Meyer says in the video below. “I’m a bit of a history buff and a fan of Baltimore, so it all fit together really well doing choral music, the War of 1812 and Baltimore.”
Baltimore began celebrating the bicentennial of the War of 1812 earlier this summer.
