College-bound student awarded Knights scholarship

The Knights of Columbus Council 7612 in Eldersburg announced the 2008 recipient of the Robert H. Clark Memorial Scholarship at the group’s annual awards banquet. Bridget Ann Gallagher of Sykesville was recognized as this year’s recipient by John Hundertmark, chairman of the scholarship committee.

Daniel and Doris Gallagher home-schooled their daughter, who maintained a straight-A average and 4.0 GPA throughout high school. She was chosen from dozens of applicants and will attend Towson University in the fall.

The scholarship was established in 1981 to promote the educational goals of deserving, qualified applicants and is offered as a charitable and educational activity of the Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen Council 7612. It is dedicated to the late council member Robert H. Clark, an educator in the Maryland public schools system.
