Churchgoers should give respect to God

One month ago, the priest at our parish addressed the congregation on the clothes worn to Mass and their “rude manners” in church.
Father said people come to Mass dressed as through they are going to the beach, i.e., shorts, backless tops on ladies, Bermudas, flip-flops, bare mid-drifts and mini skirts. He commented that people in past years had special “church clothes.” People arrive late and leave early. Father asked if this is an American custom or just rudeness. How would you dress if going to a dinner with the President of the United States and would you leave immediately after you had finished your dinner?
Let’s be mindful of the above and demonstrate to God the respect due to him.
