Catonsville residents go fly a kite

By Catholic Review Staff
More than 100 students joined residents of the Charlestown Retirement Community April 13 for the second annual Catonsville Kite Flying Contest. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Catonsville, the contest was held on Charlestown’s campus, on a field in front of Our Lady of the Angels Chapel.
Students from Our Lady of Victory School in Arbutus, Monsignor Slade Catholic School in Glen Burnie and St. Jane Frances School in Pasadena were among the participants.
Pat Kasuda, a Charlestown resident and parishioner of Our Lady of the Angels, coordinated the contest. Her grandchildren, parishioners of St. Mary in Annapolis, swept the “Best Baltimore Spirit” category. James and Natalie, who attend Shipley’s Choice Elementary, won in the K-grade 2 and grades 3-5 divisions; and Alexis, who attends Severna Park Middle School, won for grades 6-8.
