Calvert Hall puts four in Under Armour All-America game

By Catholic Review Staff

Calvert Hall, the top-rated boys’ lacrosse team in the state and the champion of the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference, will have a strong presence in the Under Armour All-America game in Towson June 30.

The 8 p.m. game will be played at Johnny Unitas Stadium, the same venue where the Cardinals dominated Loyola Blakefield in the A Conference title game May 18.

Attackman Ryan Brown and Patrick Kelly, midfielder Kelton Black and defenseman Evan Connell are all on the South roster, making Calvert Hall the only  program in the nation with four players in either the boys’ or girls’ All-America games.

Black and Brown are headed to Johns Hopkins, while Connell and Kelly will play for North Carolina. The South roster also includes Loyola Blakefield midfielder Deemer Class (Duke).

The girls’ Under Armour All-American game, at 5 p.m., precedes the boys’ game at Johnny Unitas Stadium. The South team includes John Carroll midfielder Erica Brodt (Syracuse), Maryvale Prep midfielder Sam Darcangelo (Florida) and St. May’s goalie Megan Ward (North Carolina).
