The North American Conference of Associates and Religious (NACAR) will meet May 30-June 1 at the Sheraton Premier at Tyson’s Corner in Vienna, Va., for their annual conference.

Sister Helen Prejean, C.S.J., author of “Dead Man Walking,” will be the keynote speaker.

Her main focus will be to address the conference theme, “Proclaiming the Vision …True to Our Founding Charisms.”

NACAR members in the Baltimore-Washington area are underway in their preparations and procedures for the conference, according to Kitty Tallent, an associate for the Religious Sisters of Mercy in Baltimore. She said volunteers from the Washington-Baltimore area are welcome and can contact Mimi Bourgeois, the committee chairwoman, at 410-788-2962.

NACAR typically exhibits a variety of books, materials and other products from North American sources. Conference forms are available with Sister Catherine Schwemer, P.H.J.C. – NACAR, 4321 Elm St., East Chicago, IN, 46312.
