Baltimore Catholic Parish Re-enacts Crucifixion of Jesus During Holy Week

Parishioners from Sacred Heart of Jesus-Sagrado Corazon de Jesus Parish in Highlandtown will pray the live Stations of the Cross as Jesus’ final hours are re-enact on the streets of Southeast Baltimore April 4 at 7 p.m. and April 6 (Good Friday) at 12 p.m.

Parishioners and members of the Parish’s Ministry of Art and Culture will process through the streets of Highlandtown as “Jesus” carries a cross before His “crucifixion” in the presence of “soldiers” and “followers.”

Christians believe Jesus was crucified on the Friday before Easter, also known as Good Friday.

The very visual and solemn procession will occur along the following route:

April 4
7 p.m. Depart St. Patrick’s Church, Bank St. and Broadway, Fells Point
Travel South on Ann St. to Gough St. to Washington Street
Washington Street to Lombard Street
Lombard Street to Durham Street
Durham Street to Pratt Street
Pratt Street to Broadway until returning to St. Patrick’s Church
April 6 (Good Friday)
Noon Depart Sacred Heart of Jesus-Sagrade Corazon de Jesus Church, 600 S. Conkling St.
