Area Catholic School Students to Watch Installation Mass Today

Students in area Catholic schools will watch today’s Mass of Installation for Archbishop William E. Lori and will participate in lessons about the new Archbishop and the history of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, the oldest Catholic diocese in the United States.

Media outlets are welcome to visit St. Clement Mary Hofbauer School at 1216 Chesaco Ave. in Rosedale or St. Joseph School at 8416 Belair Rd. in Fullerton beginning at 1:30 p.m. today.

Archbishop Lori will be installed as head of the nation’s oldest Catholic diocese at a Mass at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in North Baltimore at 2 p.m. today before an estimated 2,000 people.

Archbishop Lori succeeds Edwin Cardinal O’Brien, who served as 15th Archbishop of Baltimore from 2007-2011.

Seventy Catholic schools in the Archdiocese serve over 28,000 students.
