Archdiocese to Collect School Supplies for Children of Haiti

The Archdiocese of Baltimore announced today that the recent floods and mudslides left in Hurricane Ivan’s wake destroyed all the schools in the city of Gonaives, Haiti. To help the children in the Archdiocese’s sister-diocese get back to school as soon as possible, the Archdiocese’s Baltimore Haiti Outreach Project will collect school supplies on the next four Saturdays.

The collections will take place at St. Clement Church, located at 135 First Avenue in Lansdowne on October 23 and 30, November 6 and 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Among the items needed are: pens, pencils, erasers, colored pencils, crayons, rulers, pencil sharpeners, chalkboard chalk and erasers, paper, notebooks, file folders, copy paper, staplers, scissors, computers, photocopiers, t-shirts, shorts, and shoes for boys and girls ages three through 16. Multi-vitamins and protein supplements are also needed.
