Archbishop Lori to Announce Archdiocese’s First Capital Campaign in 15 Years

Minimum Goal of $100 million to help support parishes, schools, charitable outreach

On Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the new location of Archbishop Borders School in Baltimore’s Highlandtown neighborhood, Archbishop William E. Lori will announce the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s first capital campaign in 15 years, Embracing our Mission ~ Shaping our Future.

The goal of this historic initiative is to provide the financial support needed to further the Church’s mission of educating children of all faiths and economic backgrounds through Catholic schools, serving the poor through Catholic Charities, and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through more than 150 parishes in Baltimore City and nine counties in Maryland.

Following the announcement, Archbishop Lori will bless the new home of Archbishop Borders School, 3500 Foster Street. on the campus of Sacred Heart of Jesus ~ Sagrado Corazon de Jesus Parish. The school moved into the building at the start of this school year and is in the third year of implementation of its dual language program, which aims to graduate students with fluency in English and Spanish. It is the first and only program of its kind in a Catholic school in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
