Archbishop has hit the ground running

This is the first letter I have ever written to the Catholic Review. I have never even met Archbishop William E. Lori, but my admiration for him comes from two trips he has taken so far that are close to my heart.

I am a parishioner of St .Rita in Dundalk, where he not only celebrated Mass for our 90th anniversary, but came to our dinner afterward and stopped at every table and spoke with the people. Second, I am a counselor/companion at Camp Glow, which serves mentally challenged adults at the Monsignor O’Dwyer House in Sparks. Archbishop Lori celebrated Mass there and visited with the campers.

It would have been completely understandable, given the short time since his installation, that these commitments would not be possible. He is my hero; we have a wonderful, thoughtful and committed man here to serve. Thank you, Archbishop Lori, you have given our spirits a boost and we are ready to serve.
