African calendar available for sale

A 2008 calendar that features photos from an African mission trip undertaken this summer by parishioners of the Archdiocese of Baltimore is available for sale. The proceeds will be used to help purchase a new ambulance for St. Elizabeth Hospital in Arusha, Tanzania.

Father John Lombardi, chaplain of the National Shrine Grotto of Lourdes in Emmitsburg and Father Colin Poston, associate pastor of the Church of the Resurrection in Ellicott City, led the mission trip, which included outreach to South African and Tanzanian orphanages, AIDS clinics and schools. The pilgrims also participated in safaris.

Two types of calendars are available, one that features the faces of African people and another of safari animals. The suggested donation is $10.
