In 1973, the United States Supreme Court made their decision to legalize abortion in the United States. Since then, countless numbers of innocent unborn lives have been taken, mothers and fathers have been deeply wounded, and families changed forever. This societal sin has created a cultural landscape that Pope Francis calls the “throwaway culture”. As people of faith and life, we march to show our solidarity with the weakest and most vulnerable of human life: the unborn. We march until justice is served and the most fundamental of all rights, the right-to-life, is restored for all persons, whether born or unborn. We march because abortion does not help women, it hurts women, exploits women, damaging both body and soul. We march because families deserve better than abortion. We march because it is our Gospel call: “whatever you did for the least of my brothers and sisters, you did it to Me (Matt. 25:40).”
