Additional Information for Religious Education, Catechetical, and Youth Ministry Positions

The Division of Catechetical and Pastoral Formation provides leadership and services in developing effective approaches to evangelization, religious education, family catechesis, and marriage preparation and enrichment.

The Division of Youth & Young Adult Ministry provides direction and leadership to adolescents and young adults. It supports ministry which seeks “to draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic faith community.”

Professional Qualifications

Professional qualifications for Catechetical and Youth Ministry Positions in the Archdiocese of Baltimore include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university,
  • Religious studies or theology background preferred
  • Catechetical or Youth Ministry Certification
  • Volunteer experience in a parish or school setting
  • Active practicing Catholic
  • Knowledge of current church practices and teachings

Application Process

  1. Applicant applies online
  2. Applicant completes application and submits it to HR by mail (see address below)
  3. Applicant submits documents for Credential file to HR/Recruiter
  4. Recruiter screens applications and compiles the Credential file
  5. Recruiter refers qualified candidates (with complete Credential file) to Parishes/Schools

A Credential File Includes:

  • Application for employment
  • Resume
  • Official transcripts – submit original documents requested from college/university
  • Copy of certificate(s)
  • A minimum of three professional references. If currently employed at an Archdiocesan location one must be from your current employer.
