Mission Trips

Mission Trips to Haiti have been offered by the Archdiocesan Missions Office as well as through its school partners, Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, MD and Bishop Alemany High School in California.

ARCHDIOCESE HAITI TRIP

July

Typically, for one week in July the Archdiocese of Baltimore Missions Office recruits volunteers to run a summer camp for children in Saint Marc, Haiti! Volunteers aged 16-20 lead activities such as teaching English conversation, arts & crafts, games, etc. for primary school students at the Good Samaritans school in Haiti.

Those who apply are required to have a willingness to experience life in a developing country, a willingness to share his/her culture and talents with the poorest of the poor in Haiti, as well as a willingness to advocate on their behalf upon returning to the US.

Unfortunately, there are currently no trips scheduled.

Thank you for your interest and stay tuned for future trip opportunities.

ARCHBISHOP SPALDING HAITI TRIP

Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, MD has established a sister-school relationship with the Good Samaritans school in Saint Marc. Annually they celebrate a “Haiti Week” at school and take a group of students to visit and serve the school in July. Their visit to Haiti includes working with the students on various projects and activities like painting or running a summer camp. They paint a mural on the school walls in Haiti and a matching mural on the school walls at Spalding to represent their school motto, “One in Christ.”

BISHOP ALEMANY HAITI TRIP

Bishop Alemany High School in Los Angeles, Calif., partnered with the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s Haiti Outreach in 2015 and sent students to run a camp for Good Samaritans students each year during the week of Ash Wednesday.
