Sister M. Gillet Beach, I.H.M., dies

A funeral Mass for Sister M. Gillet Beach, a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Hearts of Mary, was offered Jan. 15 at Our Lady of Peace Residence in Scranton, Pa. Sister Gillet died Jan. 10. She was 100.

Born in Altoona, Pa., Sister Gillet entered the congregation in 1935 and took first vows in 1937. She taught and served as a librarian in schools in Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Maryland. In Baltimore, she taught at St. Bernardine School from 1944 to 1961 and St. Rita Elementary School from 1967 to 1969.
