For the first six months, this blog was originally known as Matt Palmer’s Blog. It won Best Blog from the Maryland, Delaware, D.C. Press Association, but judges said it needed a catchier name. Finally, it’s here. A few weeks ago, I asked you to name my blog and promised the winner a pair of Orioles tickets. The new blog name, The Welcome Matt, came from Father Jim Proffitt, pastor of St. John the Evangelist in Severna Park. Thanks to everyone who entered. All the suggestions were inventive and fun. The blog begins anew today. So, here I am rolling out The Welcome Matt. Just make sure you wipe your feet before entering.
