Stella Maris offers care in private rooms

Earlier this month, Stella Maris opened a new, 29-room nursing home unit that offers private rooms.

Stella Maris is a Timonium retirement residence that provides a continuum of care, including long-term care, home care, hospice care and rehabilitation services.

Known as 3 Shehan, the new unit has an upscale theme and offers a select dinner menu.

“It is quite nice,” said Rose Kendig, spokeswoman for Stella Maris. The new wing is part of a vision to redo the entire facility, which opened in 1953. In recent years the hospice, fifth-floor and fourth-floor units have all been redone to provide beautiful settings that offer state-of-the-art care in a comfortable environment.
