The Greene Turtle in Fells Point will host a series of free Tuesday evening talks for young adults as part of the “Tap into your Faith” program. Each evening will begin with a social at 7 p.m., followed by a talk on a Catholic topic from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. and a social from 8:15 to 9 p.m.
The series began Feb. 9 and will conclude April 7 with a concert featuring The Arrangement, an alternative/rock band, that will play from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. There will be a small cover charge that evening.
“We hope to bring Catholic Christians together to learn more about the faith, grow in community and foster spiritual relationships with other brothers and sisters in Christ,” said Leanne Haslbeck, one of the organizers.
The evenings are geared to young adults aged 21-40, but older age groups are welcome.
The schedule is:
Delegate Joseph C. Boteler III, a Republican representing Baltimore County in the Maryland House of Delegates, will speak Feb. 23 on “Health Care and Morality: the Modern Agenda in Politics.”
Father Abel Agbulu, a resident priest at St. Cecilia in Baltimore, will speak March 2 on “Relationships and Marriage.”
Archbishop Edwin F. O’Brien, 15th archbishop of Baltimore, will speak March 9 on “What’s Marriage, Anyway.”
Monsignor James Farmer, pastor of St. Ursula in Parkville, will speak March 16 on “Prayer: Communication with God.”
George P. Matysek Jr., senior writer for The Catholic Review, will speak March 23 on “Catholicism on the Frontlines: A journalist’s perspective on the Church, faith and the future of Catholic journalism.”
