Monsignor Stuart W. Swetland, moral theologian and philosophy professor at Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, will give a lecture at three parishes April 8 focused on “End-of-Life Issues: What the Church Teaches on Euthanasia.”
The lectures will be at 10 a.m., at St. Peter the Apostle in Libertytown; 1 p.m., at Our Lady’s Center in Ellicott City; and 7:30 p.m., at Church of the Annunciation in Rosedale.
Monsignor Swetland holds the Most Reverend Harry J. Flynn Endowed Chair for Christian Ethics and chairs of the President’s Committee on Catholic Identity and Mission at Mount St. Mary’s. He has also served as vice president for Catholic Identity and Mission and director of Homiletics and Pre-Theology.
In addition, he is host of the TV program, “Catholicism on Campus: Philosophy and the Search for Wisdom” on the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN).
