750 Catholic Youths to Walk in the 21st Annual Youth and Young Adult Pilgrimage

Seven hundred and fifty Catholic young people will join Archbishop William Lori in an annual Palm Sunday weekend pilgrimage through Baltimore on Saturday, April 12th to mark the start of Holy Week. The idea for a youth pilgrimage originated from World Youth Day in Denver in 1993, which also featured a pilgrimage with young Catholics carrying a large wooden cross.

Following an 11:15 a.m. rally and Eucharistic Adoration at Wyman Park, the procession of young people will depart at 12:45 p.m. with the pilgrims carrying palm and a 10-foot wooden cross along a three-mile route along N. Charles Street concluding at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen. The pilgrimage will take place RAIN or SHINE and will adhere to the following schedule:

10:00 Registration opens – Wyman Park
11:00 Rally begins at Wyman Park
11:20 Archbishop Lori addresses the youths and young adults before they process to Ss. Philip and James Catholic Church, 2801 N. Charles St., for Eucharistic adoration**
12:45 Begin Pilgrimage Walk (Stations of the Cross at Millbrook Road, south of Loyola University Maryland)
3:15 Concert at Notre Dame of Maryland University
4:20 Begin walk to Cathedral of Mary our Queen
4:40 Arrive at Cathedral of Mary our Queen
5:00 Parish Liturgy begins with Archbishop
6:30 Departure

**Archbishop Lori will carry the cross with young Catholics immediately following the conclusion of the rally.
