Pat Ashby, Administrative Assistant
Last week, a few significant changes were announced that affect the internal structure of the Archdiocese of Baltimore's Department of Evangelization. (Please see the letter announcing and explaining these changes here.) These changes, which include how the Archdiocese and the Department can enhance our Deaf Ministry and more effectively support the needs of the deaf Catholic community, will be effective as of May 1, 2015. Though these changes involve a change in the way we staff this ministry, our commitment to meeting the pastoral needs of our sisters and brothers in the deaf community has not changed. Deaf Ministry is crucial to our mission and vision as a Department. To that end, Deaf Ministry will now be part of a newly-formed Office of Special Needs Ministry. Deacon Bill Fleming will serve as the director for this Office, which will now oversee two entirely distinct ministries: Disabilities Ministry and Deaf Ministry. We will also be hiring a new Coordinator for Deaf Ministry whose exclusive focus will be to meet the local pastoral needs of the deaf community in our parishes, schools, and families.
If you have any questions or concerns about these changes, please call or email John Romanowsky, Executive Director of Evangelization, at 410-547-5321, or email@example.com.
If you have any questions directly related to Deaf Ministry, please contact Deacon Bill Fleming,at 410-547-5410 or firstname.lastname@example.org or Pat Ashby, Administrative Assistant, at 410-547-5372 or email@example.com.
